Ah Christmas, what a lovely time of year. Full of parties, festive meals and a chance to get a whole new wardrobe!

Ok, it may be cold and slightly miserable BUT one thing thats great about the weather this time of year is that you can layer UP!

Personally I like to mix and match my winter outfits however I have outlined my favourite few staples which I feel every man should have this season.

A Winter coat.
Usually one of the more expensive items of your closet however they are certainly an investment. If you choose wisely then a winter coat can be timeless and spread over a few years.
Thick, Stylish and certainly warm, a big coat would be great for most occasions. I personally prefer ones with a wool blend to ensure they are nice and warm. Also a coat with a large collar means that you don’t always need to take a scarf with you.
I use my leather jacket all year round however in winter I love it due to it being slightly smaller than a big jacket and is great for all occasions.
All weather.

Whether you are a city commuter or a country bumpkin, the endless uses of an all weather jacket will mean you can wear it all conditions! Waterproof ones are great but simple down jackets are super warm and mean less layers underneath.
Dressing for the cold is one thing but dressing to be warm to then look great at a party is sometimes a challenge. My answer to this… Layers.
Depending on the type of event or party you might be attending this season may sway your choices however i am confident that these few items will keep you warm and stylish all winter long.
Turtle necks are great for creating a very simple and stylish yet practical look for most occasions. Depending on the colour of your winter coat I would suggest getting the opposite colour turtle neck. For example, a tan or cream turtle neck with a black jacket looks amazing. However as always, a black t-neck will go with most things.
Having a nice thick tweed jacket is always a winner, you can look smart and also be nice and warm.  As its the season to be merry, why not get a couple of shirts to match the mood of the season.
Xmas Jumpers
Love them or hate them, Xmas jumpers are certainly here to stay. Now you can embrace them, wear them with pride and be the envy of all your colleagues OR you can sit quietly at the side of the room secretly wishing you had a conversation starter hanging off the front of your jumper.
I’ll be the first to say that Xmas jumpers are not the latest fashion trend so here are just a list of my personal favourites.
Keeping warm is usually the objective around this time of year however that can sometimes come at a cost to the fashion police.
My suggestion is to keep your accessories to a range that can be used across lots of different outfits and looks. I have outlined a few suggestions below.
This a personal preference but I find leather gloves super warm and very stylish. They go perfectly with your leather jacket and most of them are water resistant.
Scarfs are a must for the winter weather, you can get long thick ones which are great for outdoor events and keeping your ears warm too. However if you want something for a night out then getting a thinner wool blend will mean you can put it away in the cloakroom without it needing its own hook!
Some people like a statement hat with a crazy bobble on top and others like a more simple style. Whatever your choice, choose a hat that you like to wear and that doesn’t mess up your hair too much.
So dress to impress, Wishing everyone happy holidays.
