THE WINTER WRAPPED CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN GUYSWritten by Mary Mullock in Men's Style on November 3rd, 2017
MEET….MARLON, ROB & BRAD
From acting, modelling, starring on X-Factor – to furniture making and running their own fashion brands! These guys have a lot on their plates. We caught up with them on set of our new Winter Wrapped – Christmas Campaign to eat pizza and talk traditional Christmas habits.
You’ve spent a lot of time in your dressing gown waiting for gifts today! What’s the Best and worst Christmas presents you’ve received?
I got given a Huddersfield FC oven glove last year. Which wasn’t great, but I’m a fan so it wasn’t too bad! Oh and loads of booze!
A typical Christmas looks like…
Going to the pub from about 12 -2pm. Squeezing in two Christmas dinners during the day! And going over to my girlfriend’s. Then usually being in a food coma for the next two days!
Who usually does the cooking?
That would be my mum. Although I’ve also spent some Christmases abroad in Melbourne, Australia and Columbia before!
(Sounds good to us, we’d love to try some BBQ’d turkey!…)
What do you do with your time off?
Love watching football, playing as well. Also really into upcycling and selling furniture.
TV you would recommend for a Christmas binge…
Breaking Bad, Peaky Blinders, Narcos
(Tick, tick, tick! Smashing the Netflix choices)
You’ve handled the unusual style swap from bowler hat to cracker hat like a pro today! How long have you been in the modelling game?
It’s been 5 years now, it’s great. I’ve also been an extra on shows like Hollyoaks and Cold Feet.
What’s a typical Christmas Day like for you?
It’s got to be a nap and a turkey sandwich!! Starting with a beer for breakfast. On Christmas Eve we get out the cheese, crackers, and some wine. I’m usually at home with my girls, (girlfriend and daughters).
What presents did you get last year?
I just got some ‘Daddy Pig’ PJ pants. We go to the Disney store to get the girl’s presents, they love everything from there! It’s about them really. Expensive though!!
How do you spend your free time?
Watching football –I’m a Man United fan! Going to the gym, and the pub. (We like a balanced lifestyle!) I’ve got a fashion brand with my girlfriend, we design a lot of Tshirts so that keeps us busy.
How long have you been modelling for?
3 years, and I was singing before that.
Thought we recognised you from somewhere?!
Yeah, I was on the X Factor in 2010. I made it to the judges’ houses with Dannii Minogue in Australia.
What was it like being on the X Factor?
It was great but it’s not what it looks like on TV. When we were on the plane to Australia they got us to pose in Business Class to look like we were having a great time, and as soon as they were done shooting we were straight back into Economy!!
Wow, business to budget! Simon Cowell sure knows how to protect his assets. Did you get on well with the judges?
Yes but you don’t really see or speak to them that much. Dannii was nice though she did hang out with us a bit while we were in Australia.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I like going to the gym, keeping fit. Also like cooking.
What’s your go-to dish?
Probably fried dumplings and brown stew chicken.
TV to binge on?
Catfish is hilarious! Love reality TV.
Typical Christmas Day?
Opening presents with my kids.
Marlon, we’ve never met anyone who has so much sugar in their tea. Maybe this is the secret to where he gets his energy from. He definitely kept everyone in high spirits on set!
