We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how disappointing this must be, especially after looking forward to upgrading to a washer dryer. What you’ve described isn’t the experience we want any customer to have.
The LG W4X1095NWK uses sensor-based drying, which can sometimes extend drying times or result in over-drying if loads are mixed, too small, or not suited to combined wash-dry cycles. Items such as throws, mattress protectors, and bulky fabrics can be particularly sensitive and may require lower-heat or air-dry options rather than standard drying programmes.
That said, smelling scorching or having items damaged is certainly not expected behaviour, especially in a new appliance. We would strongly recommend stopping use of the drying function for now and contacting LG Customer Support or your retailer as soon as possible so they can inspect the machine and advise on settings or arrange a service visit if needed.
